Netwise Resources has recently been helping clients with a malware issue-another word for malicious software designed to attack and take over your computer system. This particular malware issue is called RootKit.Win32.tdss.
How do you know you have it?
Organizations had been experiencing issues such as not being able to access their internet explorer, several uncontrollable window pop-ups, and messages stating the user has viruses. But this information is false and is designed to make you purchase software to rid yourself of these “so called” viruses.
What should you do?
Make sure that you do NOT click to download any software or any other software that you are not familiar with. And you should always ensure that you are blocking pop-ups.
What are the implications if you are attacked by this particular malware?
Complete and total operating system failure!
It’s important to understand that your current anti-virus might not always catch these threats and new types of malware and spyware are being created every day. Make sure you are routinely running system scans for viruses, malware, spyware, cookies, etc. And use a good anti-virus product such as Trend Micro or Malwarebytes.
If you experience any issues with this particular malware (RootKit.Win32.tdss), Kapersky Lab has a free download that is safe to remove this particular malware or you can contact Netwise Resources at 317-275-3329 and talk to our friendly helpdesk and they will help you remove these issues. Netwise Resources also provides solutions for viruses, spyware, malware, etc.
